We started running and I thought, this is nice It's all shaded and flat. This should be easy! Then we turned the corner and went up Buttercup lane. Oh my gosh!! It was the steepest hill in Garden City. I tried to keep at it and ended up walking part of the way up the hill. I saw the drink station and grabbed a quick drink and then there was ANOTHER steep hill. I finally got to the top and thought, oh my gosh I think I'm going to barf. But I didn't!! Then I had to run down that damn hill. I don't know what was worse, running up it or running down it. I thought I was going to fall on my face. I finally got to the bottom of the hill and thought ok, the worse is over. I just kept walking/jogging the whole way. Then I saw this kid that had been running with his family. His family wasn't with him anymore and he was sad. I stopped and walked with him for a while and then when his family was in sight I started running again. I finally made it to the finish line.

| I had to have burned more calories than that. Those hills sucked. |
This is how long it took me. I know it's slow but I thought it would take me at least 50-55 min just because I hadn't been running a whole lot the last couple of weeks. I thought, if I didn't have to run up those damn hills and walk with that kid for a bit I would have done it at at least 30 min! So I'm proud of myself. It also made me realize I needed to try and find some places to run with more hills. I have some sore muscles!!
